On January 22nd, 2019, the Japanese Film Festival was held in Singapore, with appearances by wonderful guests such as Shinichiro Ueda, director of One Cut of the Dead, and Wishing Chong, director of Yakiniku Dragon, at its opening ceremony.
This time, the Japanese Film Festival in Singapore did something new—it was held in three locations, including Shaw Theatres Lido on Orchard Road, located in the city center, and a rich variety of films were shown, including contemporary dramas, classics, and short films.
After the screening of One Cut of the Dead, which had been invited to be shown as the opening film, as well as Yakiniku Dragon, which had been invited to be shown as a special screening, directors Ueda and Chong also hosted a speaking event and enjoyed interacting with members of the audience who had come to the venue.
Singapore’s Japanese Film Festival will be held until February 10th, and is expected to bring out about 3,000 people.
